We live in a culture where reason and rational thought are elevated above all else. Critical thinking, logic, and objectivity are held (by many) in higher regard than emotional intelligence, intuition, or spiritual insight. But when we ignore the guidance available in the non-intellectual realms, we miss out on some of the most powerful aspects of the human experience.
There is a deep pool of inner peace and inner wisdom inside of us all–whether we know it or not. To access it, we must drop beneath the noise of the outside world and the mental chatter within.
Today I am sharing a 4-minute guided visualization called “Sink Into the Soul Space” along with a downloadable worksheet.
Whether you want to calm your nervous system or seek clarity around a decision, this simple practice of “sinking into the soul space” can help. Here’s how to try it:
1. Get a journal or open your notes app.
As you settle in, certain thoughts may rise that feel important—noticing them and writing them down will free your mind to go deeper.
2. Listen to the guided meditation.
It’s only four minutes!
3. Fill out the worksheet.
Whether you’re exploring a decision, answering a question, or simply dropping into a moment of peace, you’ll discover insights worth remembering. Putting them into words helps you strengthen the skill.
I use the word “visualization” instead of “meditation” for a reason: Visualizing what’s happening in your internal world is a powerful skill. It helps you remember that you are the observer—you can witness your experience instead of getting lost in it.
Also, let’s be honest—meditation can sound like a chore. But this practice of tuning into your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and impulses builds self-awareness, which gives you greater clarity, calm, and control.
So, try it! You have nothing to lose and so much to gain.
