THE TWO QUESTIONS
To Get Your Teen To Open Up -Today!
Can One Conversation Transform Your Relationship?
If it’s the right conversation, it can.

If your relationship with your teen is built on a strong foundation of trust,
good communication, strong conflict resolution skills, effective repair when necessary, and aligned values and vision, these two questions
can get things back on track.
If you are like most parents, though, you might consider investing 2 short weeks of your time to reset your relationship and build the foundation for a lifetime of good-feeling communication and joyful interactions.
Does your teen...
Roll their eyes at you, never want to spend time with you, seem to be pulling further and further away from you?
Are you worried that they are… having trouble dealing with their emotions, not able to make good decisions, going to fall short of your expectations of them—and their expectations of themselves?
What if you could...
Get your relationship back on track, so that you could... feel good about their mental health, trust their judgement, and feel inspired about their future.
And they could... feel more confident in themselves, have more joy in their lives, and consider you their most trusted ally?
Reset your relationship with your teen in 2 weeks!
How it Works
Each day for 14 days you are invited to:

-
Watch a 3-minute video
-
Answer 3 questions
-
Have 1 conversation
It's that simple!
We also provide downloadable worksheets to guide your experience every step of the way, so you can transform your relationship with your teen in a life-changing three-part conversation.
Everyone has a few minutes a day to do something this important!
Why does it take 14 days?
The first week is about getting you, the parent, in the right headspace to really hear what your teen needs from you for the relationship to feel better.
The second week is about a three-part conversation with your teen that goes like this:

-
First, you invite your teen to a "Listening Session" where you listen to what they need from you. (Don't worry, they have to agree to do a couple of worksheets to structure the conversation and keep it from being disrespectful.)
-
Then, after to process what they presented, you come back together to brainstorm ways for both of you to get more of your needs met in the relationship.
-
Finally, at another time, you have a conversation solely focused on planning joyful interactions that allow you to enjoy each other's company.

The worksheets keep everything solution-focused and positive.

A Few Words From Kristin
Hi, I'm Kristin MacDermott. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist, resilience expert, and creator of the MacDermott Method.
A Joyful Mission
Families can be our greatest source of joy, but parenting is hard if you don't have training in communication and conflict resolution. Where do you get that training? Right here!
You shouldn't have to pay thousands or dollars or spend dozens of hours in therapy to get the tools and skills you need to enjoy parenting.
Our mission is to help every parent who wants to have a better-feeling relationship with their teen achieve that goal.
An Evidence-Based Curriculum
I have spent two decades studying and teaching resilience and relationships, and the tools of this short but powerful program will not only help you repair your relationship with your teen but also allow you to communicate and resolve conflict more effectively in the future so you can enjoy each other's company going forward.
The Evidence-Based Curriculum
The tools of this course pull from my resilience-training curriculum that has been validated in 4 studies with researchers from The Duke Clinical Research Institute, published in peer-reviewed journals, and proven to promote clinically significant improvement in key mental health and resilience measures, including distress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and self-efficacy.
Versions of the curriculum have been used by a diverse array of organizations, including Navy SEALs, the LAPD, 20 hospitals across the country, including Duke Health and the National Institutes of Health, the National Guard, and the Veterans Administration, and they have been funded by The National Cancer Institute, Navy SEAL Family Foundation, Pfizer, Genentech, Amgen, Livestrong, Duke Cancer Institute, Colorado Health Foundation, Women’s Cancer Research Fund, the Aspen Center for Integral Health, Susan G. Komen Foundation, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, and the Annenberg Foundation.

Still Not Sure if it's Right for You?
Try THE TWO QUESTIONS first.
If the conversation goes well, but you aren’t sure what to do next, ask yourself the following questions:
-
Am I confident we can work through any lingering resentments?
-
Do we have the conflict skills to navigate future disagreements?
-
Do I feel good about setting and enforcing healthy boundaries?
-
Do I believe in my ability to parent the difficult times well?
-
Do I trust my teen’s judgment?
-
Am I an excellent listener?

If you answer “no” or “not sure” to any of these questions, consider The 14-Day Reset.

I promise, if you follow my step-by-step program for 2 weeks, your relationship will be transformed and you will have laid the foundation for good-feeling, open communication with your teen for years to come.
