*This week's message is a "Skill of the Week" from our Mindset Moments™ program (they all have GIFs), which puts evidence-based, resilience-building conversation prompts in the hands of educators, coaches and parents. If you know of a school or youth-mentoring organization that could use it, please let us know.

Resilient people know that our beliefs shape our lives, so they have beliefs that comfort them, guide them, and give their lives meaning.
This time of year reminds us that spiritual beliefs are a powerful source of comfort and guidance for many people. Some beliefs give meaning to our lives. Some beliefs inspire us to be kind to each other. Some beliefs comfort us around our fears, especially around our fear of death. And many beliefs connect us to supportive communities and nurture a sense of belonging.
Regardless of what you believe, choosing to live your life in alignment with beliefs that give you purpose, connect you to the most loving parts of yourself, and nurture optimism for your future is a choice worth making.
Many people don’t realize that they can choose what to believe. They think that because they already believe something, it must be true. But people believe many different things, some of which are contradictory. Yet somehow, people have evidence for contradictory beliefs.
So, if you realize you have a belief that does not make you feel very good, look for evidence of something better. If you look hard enough, you will probably find it.
Whatever you believe, we hope it brings you peace, joy and love this holiday season.
