Break Free from the Relentless Power Struggle with Your Teen
And step into the joyful, connected relationship you've always dreamed of...
In one powerful weekend!
Many parents of teens feel trapped in constant conflict —
and don’t know how to break free.
Years of working with families taught me...
-
High-achieving families with teens struggle with many of the same challenges.
-
Even the best parents—successful, caring, committed parents, who look perfect on the outside—are walking on eggshells in their own homes.
-
Many families have "good kids"—high-achieving, academically successful, with bright futures—who are lovely to the rest of the world but are angry, sullen, and devastatingly moody at home.
Over the years, I developed a process for quickly getting things back on track.
You don't need:
-
Months of therapy

You do need:
-
A proven process for repairing relationships
-
A powerful framework for negotiating boundaries
-
Straightforward tools for communication and conflict
-
Coaching to see around blindspots and misunderstandings

About Kristin

Hi, I'm Kristin MacDermott. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist, resilience expert, author and creator of the MacDermott Method.
My Evidence-Based Curriculum
I have spent the past 25 years studying and teaching resilience. The tools of this course pull from my resilience-training curriculum, which has been validated in four studies (including two randomized-controlled trials) with researchers from The Duke Clinical Research Institute, published in peer-reviewed journals, and proven to promote clinically significant improvement in key mental health and resilience measures, including self-efficacy, distress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
I have designed resilience-training programs for a diverse array of organizations, including Navy SEALs, the LAPD, 20 hospitals across the country, including Duke Health and the National Institutes of Health, the National Guard, and the Veterans Administration.
My programs have been funded by highly-respected organizations, including Navy SEAL Family Foundation, National Cancer Institute, Pfizer, Genentech, Amgen, Livestrong, Duke Cancer Institute, Colorado Health Foundation, Women’s Cancer Research Fund, Susan G. Komen Foundation, National Comprehensive Cancer Network, and the Annenberg Foundation.

I am presently focused on improving teen mental health by bringing an evidence-based resilience-training program called Mindset Moments™ into schools and youth mentoring organizations and by improving parent/teen relationships with The Weekend Reset because...
The single most important thing you can do for your teen's mental health
is improve your relationship with them.
